After a recent campaign against marauding Orc and Goblin warbands, the Shadow Hunter detachment of Prime Brothers seethed with irritation. Their Battle Brother allies had continually offered the greenskin marauders the opportunity for parlay rather than obliterating them outright. Those offers failed and the enemy destroyed but captain Aurelius felt a sense of betrayal against his so-called allies.
He gathered around him, a small task force of his brothers and followed the Battle Brothers to their fortress on the barren moon of Zaryth Prime. Landing some distance away, his brothers marched through the barren wastes until they reached the outskirts of the enemies fortress. Once in position, Aurelius launched a surprise attack on the Battle Brothers on watch.
The engagement was brief, and the Watch Brothers suffered casualties in the initial strike but soon they consolidated and turned the tables, dropping several squads of Shadow Hunters and their walker. Aurelius was forced to reluctantly order a retreat and pulled what remained of his forces out of the conflict zone. His honour and ego dented, Aurelius took the survivours and returned to their fleet.
