Primary Objective: Duel.
The war for Caelix was entering it's eleventh year. After the loss of their recent convoy, the Shadow Hunters detachment was given a punishment duty and forced to defend a vital munitions factory complex. The Alien Hives had been watched and launched a night time raid against this strategic location.
As seems to happen, the Shadow Hunters were taken totally by surprise. The initial wave of skittering horrors overran the outer defences and poured into the factory where the majority of the fighting took place. Bullets and plasma poured into the aliens but it was not enough to handle the horde pouring through the walls. Captain Aurelius almost fell to their claws and had to be pulled back from the fighting.
After several hours of close quarters fighting, the enemy was repelled but the Shadow Hunters had suffered such significant casualties that their combat effectiveness was now in question.
Note: This game was played in March 2023 so I don't remember the score.
